NSF International has replaced the USDA authorization program for Proprietary Substances and Nonfood compounds. Per NSF, the NSF Registration Guidelines, which were developed with the assistance of USDA staff, are substantially similar to those used by USDA when it operated its program. NSF Registration is confirmation that new or previously USDA-authorized product formulations and labels comply with NSF Registration Guidelines.
USC products registered by NSF will carry the NSF logo, the category code and NSF Registration Number.
